The Charltons
Seeking first the Kingdom of God from the 'one thing' place of encounter and habitation
Ministering to God and the body of Christ through prayer, worship, and intercession
Laboring unto the fulfillment of the Great Commission

The Charltons
Mike and Melody were first touched by the ministry of day and night prayer at the Zadok House of Prayer and Justice House of Prayer in Fort Mill, SC in 2006, and the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO later that year, and they knew that this was something they wanted to be involved with for the rest of their life. They later got involved with the Livingstone House of Prayer in Newport News, VA in 2008, joining staff in 2009.
After graduating with a degree in Music Education Mike got a job as a Middle School orchestra director, and during his tenure as a teacher in the public schools he asked the Lord if there would ever been an open door into full-time ministry. After teaching for four years God opened that door and the Charlton Family made the decision to step through it.
The Charltons are Mike, Melody, William, Keegan, Evlyn, and Rohan. They live in Fredericksburg, VA and serve full-time as Missionaries at the Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace, a House of Prayer and Missions Base.

The Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace (or FPF) is a missional community of believers serving the greater Fredericksburg region and beyond in a tri-fold ministry as (a) a house of prayer, (b) a training center, and (c) a local and global missions sending base. We have a congregation called Awakening Community Church, which serves as a local church, and is fully integrated with the mission base of FPF. Our vision is for FPF to be a regional and international ministry in that it serves Christians in many churches (not just our own church) across our city, nation, and nations of the world. This three-fold vision involves the following:
1. Maintaining an expression of day and night prayer and worship, in the spirit of the tabernacle of David, as our central focus for the transformation of the greater Fredericksburg region and the nations;
2. Training and releasing forerunners and revivalists who will proclaim Jesus in every sphere of culture and operate in supernatural demonstrations of the Kingdom of God;
3. Conducting strategic ministries of mercy to the poor and oppressed, evangelistic outreach to the unsaved, and global missions to the unreached peoples of the earth;
4. Building an authentic local community of believers as an expression of our visions and values, to be a loving, praying, training, and outreach/missions community;
